The importance of human relationship in the relocations business

One of the most meaningful parts of building a relocation and global mobility business is realising that sometimes the impact of your work goes far beyond the service itself.

In corporate relocation, we often talk about mobility programmes, destination services, employee relocation support, expatriate transitions, and global talent movement.

But behind every assignment, every relocation, and every international move is something far more personal.

A family trying to create a sense of home in an unfamiliar place.

A spouse adjusting to a new city.

Children adapting to new routines.

Professionals balancing career transitions while navigating the realities of daily life in a completely different environment.

This is the side of international relocation that rarely makes it into process charts or policy documents.

And it is often the part that matters most.

One of the things I have always believed about relocation support is that practical assistance is only one part of what families truly need when they move.

Yes, finding the right home matters.

Yes, school search, utility setup, documentation support, vendor introductions, and settling-in services are essential.

But what often makes the greatest difference is helping someone feel connected, supported, and less alone.

Because expatriate life, even when exciting, can also be deeply isolating.

That is why this testimonial means so much to me.

Not because it speaks about the operational side of what we do, but because it reflects the human relationships that grow from doing this work with care.

As shared by Maithili & Sunil Koparkar:

“Merry Christmas my dear friend or my sister from another Mister!

So pleased to see your transformation this far and can’t wait to see what new heights you’ll achieve from here on!

Having lived in Pune as expats for over 5 years, it has been a privilege to get to know Loveena Aggarwal Leonardo, GMS, MIM and her team at Everything Expats. Although I was born in Pune, returning after more than 30 years felt foreign. Their guidance on various aspects of life here has been invaluable.

We moved houses within Pune twice in the last few years, and both times, the Everything Expats team was there to support us. They assisted with finding suitable places, negotiating with landlords, handling paperwork, making trips to registration offices, furniture shopping, and setting up utilities.

They also introduced us to reliable services and vendors, such as salons, doctors, dentists, and shops, making daily life easier.

Another challenge of expat life is isolation and loneliness. Everything Expats offers an incredible social calendar, with numerous opportunities to gather and celebrate both local and international festivals.

This organization is a major blessing for the expat community.”

What stands out to me here is something every organisation managing international assignments should recognise:

Successful relocation is not just about getting someone from one country to another. It is about helping them build a life.Corporate relocation services are often evaluated through timelines, compliance, logistics, and process efficiency.

All of those matter.

But the lived experience of an expatriate family is shaped by entirely different questions:

Will we feel at home here?

Will we know who to call when something goes wrong?

Will everyday life feel manageable?

Will we find community?

Will this place ever feel familiar?

These are the moments where destination services become more than operational support.

They become human support.

At Everything Expats, our work spans executive relocation, expatriate settling-in support, home search, destination orientation, utility setup, school search support, vendor introductions, relocation logistics, and employee mobility services.

But at its heart, this business has always been about helping people feel grounded during periods of transition.

For organisations investing in international talent mobility, this is worth remembering:

A successful relocation is not simply a completed move.

It is a family that settles well, adapts confidently, and chooses to thrive.

To Maithili and Sunil, thank you for your warmth, trust, and incredibly kind words.

Testimonials like this are a reminder that in the relocation industry, the most meaningful outcomes are often the deeply human ones.
